The DeFever Cruisers BURGEE - Members may order the DeFever Cruisers Burgee from Andy Utter. The small burgee costs $20.00 US. It measures 11" between grommets and 18 1/2" length on the fly. The large burgee costs $30.00 US. It measures 15 1/2" between grommets and 25 1/2" length on the fly. Make your check payable to DeFever Cruisers and mail to : Andy Utter 995 9th Avenue South, Unit 2 Naples, FL 34102 What Size is Right for My Boat How and Where to Fly the Burgee? On powerboats, fly the burgee from a staff on the bow. The burgee should be about 5/8 inch on the fly for each foot of overall length. This suggests the larger burgee for 40 footers and up. However, some of our members prefer the smaller burgee on the DF 44. The large burgee (25 ½ inches on the fly) is good for boats over 40 feet and especially on those longer than 50 feet. The American Flag or National Ensign is flown at a flag staff at the stern of your boat. It should be one inch on the fly for each foot of overall length.
